Building hope for families in El Salvador

Join me in building 16 homes for families living in extreme poverty. Together, we can give them a safe place to call home.

Why this mission matters to me

I know what it’s like to struggle. I’ve faced homelessness, poverty, and trauma in my life, and I’ve turned that pain into my purpose.

Now, I’m giving back in a way that matters most—by helping families in El Salvador build safe, secure homes. In November, I’ll be traveling there personally to work side by side with these families to build 16 homes that will transform their lives. And I need your help to make it happen.

What we’re doing in El Salvador

In partnership with Shelter Helps, I’m going to El Salvador to build homes for 16 families living in extreme poverty. These families live in makeshift shacks made of plastic and sheet metal, with no security or sanitation. For $3,800, we can build a secure, safe home with two bedrooms, a family room, and locks for safety.

35% of El Salvador’s population lives in poverty.

$3,800 builds a safe home with concrete floors, steel beams, and secure doors.

6 out of 10 families live in overcrowded, unsafe conditions.

Your Impact: How You’re Changing Lives

When you donate, you’re not just building homes—you’re providing families with safety, security, and a future.

These homes will give children a safe place to grow, learn, and dream. They will give parents peace of mind and the dignity of having a space they can call their own.

Approx 35% of the population of El Salvador is living in relative or extreme poverty, and 6/10 families live in overcrowded, inadequate housing such as shacks that are built out of plastic, dirt and sheet metal with dirt floors. It’s our mission to change the future of the families we support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the money I donate go?

I am working with an organization called Shelter Helps, a registered charity in Canada. The charity collects all the funds and disperses them to the material suppliers in El Salvador. All funds are tax deductable.

Why did you choose El Salvador?

This is a place where we can make a significant difference for others. The living conditions for the majority of native El Salvadorians are dire. 35% of the population is living in relative or extreme poverty and 6/10 families are living in dwellings that are made of plastic, dirt, and sheet metal that are candidly unsuitable for children or adults. We can make a difference here.

What exactly are we building?

We are building houses. The homes will have concrete floors which is a 20×20 pad. They will have 2 bedrooms and a family room. The steel beams will be concreted into the ground to prevent collapse from earthquakes. It has a front and back door and windows which all have locks for safety

How can I get involved?

You can donate as little as $50 to get started, but before deciding how much you’d like to donate…

Look at your annual income and consider the difference you could make with $3,800. This is very likely less than you earn in a month and it would shelter a family immediately and provide a future that they can look forward to. This is a major opportunity to change someone’s life and you’ll have provided more than just a house, you’ll have given hope to these families and helped them to build a home.
